On 18 March 2026, Year 12 students from Te Puke High School took part in the BOP Rotary Ryda Road Safety Program, held at The Orchard in Te Puke.
This important initiative is delivered through a strong partnership between Rotary Clubs across the Tauranga area and the Road Safety Education Trust.
The Ryda course is designed to equip young people—both learner and future drivers—with the knowledge, awareness, and decision-making skills needed to stay safe on our roads. Through a series of engaging and interactive sessions, students explored critical topics such as hazard perception, speed and stopping distances, the impact of distractions, fatigue, and the responsibilities that come with being a driver or passenger.
What makes Ryda particularly impactful is its practical, real-world approach. Students are encouraged to think beyond simply passing a driving test, and instead focus on making safe choices that can prevent accidents and save lives.
Rotary is proud to support initiatives like Ryda and other Youth programs that align with our commitment to youth development.
