2017 Duck Race

What a RACE!

The sun was shining and the ducks were racing! Tauranga Te Papa Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who was down at The Strand cheering on the ducks as they made their way to the finish line. More importantly, it's all about to happen again.
The 2018 Tauranga Te Papa Rotary Duck Race is programmed to take place on Sunday 15 April at 10.30 am and you need a duck to be part of the fun. To purchase your duck for just $5.00 each, simply go to www.eventspronto.co.nz/duck18 and "Adopt a Duck" for the day.
Last year's winner of the best dressed Corporate duck from amongst quite a few very fancy ducks in the corporate race, was from Palmers Garden World Bethlehem!
Proceeds raised this year will be shared between the 3 Western Bay of Plenty Surf Lifesaving Clubs Mt Maunganui, Omanu and Papamoa and various Rotary Charities.

Edgecumbe April Update
Work continues at Edgecume and our Community workers are at it again caught this time by the Whakatane Beacon who had the following comment: "Support for recovery has extended well beyond the Eastern Bay. Volunteers from Rotary Tauranga-Te Papa visit regularly to assist those who need help to get gardens back in shape. From left: Lyn Voyde, Jill Kitchen, Peter Shepherd (property owner), Neil Percival and Rob Thompson.

Neil's Volunteer Army knows no bounds and unfortunately there's still plenty to be done.
